Wow, another memorable Hardway event yesterday, Sunday 9th June, 2024
Commemorating 80th anniversary of D-Day. Thank you to everyone that made this event possible.
Such events take a lot of planning and hard work behind the scenes. Very special thanks go to the following without whom Friends of Hardway would not have been able to ensure this truly was a community event:-
Our Treasurer, Jamie Hutchison, who secured funding for the badges, ice-creams, cakes and other expenses. He also co-ordinated with Gosport Council on the event planning and helped with preparing the green for the event.
The Marshall's tag team, David Marshall (FOH Chair) and Susan Marshall (FOH Secretary) who worked tirelessly before the event on organising FOH tasks, setting up and dismantling the gazebo, litter picking and generally mucking in with what needed to be done.
The volunteer cake bakers, who not only created such wonderful treats but who were also on hand during the day to give refreshments to the public.
There are others without whom this event would not have been possible, and this post would be way too long to thank each and everyone of you but we are most grateful for your help and contribution both before and on the day, including those on the FOH committee.
Finally to the young people from St John's C of E Primary school, your singing was fantastic and you were all a credit to both your parents and teachers. Well done to you all, carrying forward the remarkable history of Hardway to the next generation.
