HELP FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO GIVE A FRIEND THE GIFT OF BETTER READING
Saturday, 19 November, Gosport’s We Can Read volunteers will be at the Elson Community Library and Hub, in Chantry Road, Gosport.
We Can Read helps adults struggling with reading who may have received inadequate tuition in the past.
According to the Department of Education it has been estimated that one in six adults in our country have minimal to no reading ability.
It takes a brave person to come forward and admit not having proficient reading skills so We Can Read are appealing to those who would like to help loved ones, workmates, friends, and others that may be reluctant to admit they are struggling.
For those who want to help they will provide a free tuition book, ‘Teach a friend to read’ created by renowned author, Libby Coleman, who is determined to do all she can to end illiteracy.
Followed carefully, at the learners own pace it will certainly help those who wish to improve their life-chances.
The volunteers will be available in the Hub from 11 am – 1 pm.
